I just got an FT-2000 and I found my CT is reading frequecy and mode from the
radio, but the radio doesn't read the information from CT (band, mode,
frequency).  Any help will be appreciated.

I may have miss-spoken. I think N3FJP uses the FTDX9000, and N1MM is the
FT-2000, but I still have frequency, and CW control in both programs. I seem
to select a different program for every contest anyway these days. It does
get confusing...

CT does not support the FT2000. In FJP, the rig interface is working OK
except for some reason my LPT CW port doesn't work. But it works OK using
CT. Go figure!
So, we are set to use CT for now. At least we will be able to send CW from
the laptop. Hihihi Just have to do the manual band changes like we did in
the past.
So much for the last minute fire drill. Will I ever learn? Nope. :-)

I had no luck with mine until talking with Scott N3FJP. I set up the radio
as an FT-2000.
I now have the FT-450 working with the N3FJP software, and N1MM. If CT
supports the FT-2000, then it should work. I was told the command structure
is 98% the same.

No luck. Good thought though. I did discover the text command for the
FTDX9000 in the FJP logging program. I was able to get the interface to work
in there. But couldn't get the LPT keying to work in it. So, I have CT
working fine but with no rig interface. N3FJP has rig interface but no
keying. I can't win. We'll stick with CT and do manual band changes.
Just
hope nobody goofs. Hi
Thanks again for the suggestion.

You may have success trying a Kenwood radio. Seriously. Starting with
the FTDX-9000 series, Yaseu went to a text command set very similar to
that used by Kenwood since at least the TS-850. For frequency and band
setting it may just work.

Except for the FT-817 and '897 (does the '857 do CAT?) none of the new
Yaesu HF rigs support the old command set. Working primarily in the
Yaesu backends of the Hamlib (http://www.hamlib.org) Project has given
me too much experience with them. :-)
