Hal,

be sure the keyer is enabled:

type EQUIPMENT in the callsign field and press enter.  An equipment option
box will appear - make sure KEYER has an X in front of it.

I suspect that is what is not happening - also, make sure the KEYER PORT is
configured correctly under CONFIG.EXE
