To my amazement, mine works perfectly in a full-screen DOS box under
Win98SE. This includes running LPT control and keying for my Top Ten SO2R
box and managing four COM ports. I've use both 10.55 and 10.58 this way
with nary a problem. I do make sure that there are no other Windows apps
running when I do this, including virus checkers. Watch out for the crap
like RealPlayer that likes to run from your Task Bar automatically. Kill
anything that hides down there in the right bottom of the bar and promises
to "help" you by making programs "start faster." These are invariably
resource hogs.
