I have used my Kenwood MC 60 mic with four different radios -- TS 440, =
TS 450, TS 950, and TS 2000. Two things are consistent -- good audio and =
rfi problems. I solved problems before with rf chokes on mic cord, but =
this one a different animal...rfi introduced when I touch the mic stand. =
Removing base plate from mic stand eliminates problem...removed =
batteries, no effect, played around with bypass caps, but either didn't =
get them in correct place or they aren't effective. Currently in process =
of changing antenna feed system ( from ladder line to balun outside =
shack) but I also want to attack problem at mic. I know several people =
have had problems with rfi and MC 60's and I have been searching the net =
for specific modifications, but without luck. If anyone has dealt with =
this successfully, or can direct me to mods I would appreciate it.
