In yesterday's Wall St. Journal, Walt Mossberg's Personal Technology column
(p. A9, 1/2/2003) focused on the Siemens SpeedStream Powerline Wireless
Access Point and the SpeedStream Powerline Ethernet Adapter.
(http://www.speedstream.com) These are devices that extend WiFi in the home
by putting data on the home's ac wiring at the pc's location and, with the
help of a plug-in unit elsewhere, pull the data off the wiring and transmit
it on the WiFi frequency. they are sold as two units that look like plastic
wallwarts. you plug a data line from your modem into one and it plugs into
a wall outlet in turn. Then you plug the WiFi tx unit (another plastic
wallwart) into an outlet in a room where you want WiFi coverage. I'm
wondering if anyone knows if the powerline part of the circuit is a
potential HF rfi problem?
