In my own house, and in my neighbor's
house, I solved a similar problem by using
the DirecTV's composite video (RCA) and
stereo audio outputs, rather than the
RF-modulated (F-connector) output. The
picture quality is also improved.
Using the DirecTV S-Video and stereo
audio outputs is even better, both
from an RF immunity and picture
quality standpoint, in my experience.
If his TV will accept the composite
or s-video inputs, maybe this one
change will solve the problem.
