Hi Folks,
A local ham buddy here is having a hell of a time trying to rid his 2m
audio xmit signal of whine from his alternator.
He purchased a used crown Victoria from the police dept. Here are the
actions he has taken to resolve the RFI:
- installed new alternator
- ran a ground from the alternator to the neg terminal of the
battery
- ran a ground from the neg terminal of the battery to the
engine block
- grounded the radio
- ran power cable directly to the battery
I would have thought that the measures he took above would have solved
his problem.
Ideas are welcome.
