We bought 8 2-bulb Xenon under-cabinet fixtures for our kitchen remodeling - 
they are Kichler Series 2 with switching power supplies - and I cannot hear 
them at all.  They weren't cheap, though, and we bought them after a variety of 
cheaper halogens proved noisy and/or unreliable.
