Talking to a Ham friend who also is on a local fire agency board.
His FD received a brand new truck.... and they installed the radio for it ....
and one of the two major dispatch frequencies for the district had a BIG BIRDIE
right on channel.
being the superior sleuth he is ...he took off the antenna ... the
stuff was radiated.
He used his portable to 'fox' it down to a modem. YES a modem....for
the fire truck's fly by wire system to modem home to the
manufacturer. The user actually plugs in the modem for the
manufacturer to monitor the truck's cpus.
Unplug the modem and the birdie goes away...
now he''ll see about chokes ...but probably just make the FD Truck
company supply a product that doesn't bird poop on the dispatch freq.
