I have 3, 130' runs of CAT6, plus 3 shorter runs of roughly 25-30' in
the house.

Depends on the computers. Just my video cards take close to 300 watts each.

Agreed on the LCDs, however all but one of the computers here are
running 125 watt, quad core CPUs in full size tower cases. Add to that
the 300 watt plus video cards and att idle the computers even with LCD
monitors take quite a bit of power. When working hard they can pull over
400 watts. So my latest, state-of-the-art, mounted in full size tower
cases definitely do not draw less than the older computers we had. Most
I know running computers are running large ones with lots of muscle.
OTOH Unlike most who post on these forums, the average user is
completely clueless about computers, or ham radio. As a GA I taught
"the intro to computer science" to Liberal Arts majors at a nearby
university. Out of 195 students only 10 could type, probably that many
were not going to survive the class, and there were about 10 who knew
more than I did...why they were in there I don't know, but teaching that
class gave me a good overview of computer literacy in the area at the time.
