I bought 2 LED bulbs at dayton, one had a wide voltage range, like 80-240v, it
made all sorts of nasty noise. i am guessing it had a switching regulator in
it. the other is a lower power one that has a normal 110-120v range and is
perfectly quiet. I sent the noisy one to the arrl lab so they could play with
it.

I put the one I took out of the bedroom in a desktop lamp at the operating
position and today noticed an S4 noise level on 20. It is apparently
coming in through 12V powering the auto antenna tuners, since the rig's
attenuator cuts it down appropriately and it is there if I ground the
antenna inputs. No matter; I have a (brighter) 60W incandescent plugged in
now.
