Hi Ted,

I have 101% sympathy for you in your current plight there, believe me...!

But please, indulge me whilst I play "...devil's advocate" here, & ask the
group this question: what if the situation was reversed, i.e. what if the
NEIGHBOUR just purchased some new contrivance, and---through no direct fault
of your own---YOUR radio transmissions interfered with the enjoyment of HIS
new toy...? What would he/she do...?

Judging by past precedents that I've read about, or otherwise heard of
through the years, he/she would not hesitate to either (A) sic the
authorities (i.e. the FCC) on you, or, (B) file a personal lawsuit against
you.

Correct...?

For the life of me, I don't understand why some daring Ham has not as yet
(A) filed a lawsuit against a particular consumer whose imported
RFI-generating junk is disrupting HIS personal pursuit of happiness through
Amateur radio, or, (B) joined a class action suit against the FCC for
allowing the sale of such trash to the buying public in the FIRST place...

Can't you just imagine the consequences to the owner of a plasma TV (or
whatever), if said consumer lived next to, say, some sensitive military
base, and the RFI from his acquisition severely compromised operations
there...?! Now, I realize a Ham station would HARDLY be in the same league
as a miltary installation, but aren't both services essentially under the
very same umbrella of government licensing, and by default, entitled to the
very same protection from interference...?

Amateur radio seems to be in a constant state of retreat, or retrenchment,
because of RFI which is caused through no direct fault of our own. Maybe
it's time for us to start collectively pushing back---failure to do so will
surely push this hobby into non-existance, IMHO...
