Must vary with model. Mine has the linear compressor too and does not
make such a noise.
Steve W1SRD Be careful with the new LG linear compressor refrigerators. Mine outputs low level spurs every 2 kHz on 40m Obviously, noise level is a function of orientation between the appliance, antenna and if used, ladder or open feeder lines. The main radiating source comes from the CPU/Display. The root noise may, or may not have anything to do with the linear compressor. Once I get my hands on disassembly instructions I'm going in - warranty or voided warranty. In the U.S., we *really* need an amended Part 95 to include unintentional radiation from appliances and all sub-assemblies used within an appliance.Paul, W9AC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Dyer" <w1srd@yahoo.com> To: <rfi@contesting.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 12:15 PMSubject: Re: [RFI] Are newer LG models still RF quiet??? - Washing Machine RFI revisitedI have a one year old LG front loader. Quiet as a mouse and it has a variable speed drive too.73, Steve W1SRDBeen shopping for new washing machine after our very old (and RF quiet) Maytag washer is having problems once again.RFI archives summary seem to show the following brands have historically been good and RF quite: LG, Samsung, some Kenmore (if not made by Maytag orWhirlpool), and the old fashioned Speed Queen which is the last of thenon-electronic, old agitator models but are hard to find in stock and costas much as the newer technology.Bad or RF noisy washers were: Maytag Bravos and Neptune, Whirlpool Duet ,Kenmore Oasis HE, GE Profile Harmony, and the Gibson. The older models given for quiet LG are no longer available (WM0642; Tronn:WM2277HW). Newer models start with WT (WT4870CW & WT5070CW) under theboring technology/names "Inverter Direct Drive" and "Wave Force". Olderquiet Samsung model was WF218ANW. Does anyone have any recent RFI experience with the newer LG (model WT####CW) or Samsung models? 73, de ed -K0iL -.-. --.- -.. . -.- ----- .. .-.. -.- Ed Edwards --... ...-- - --- ..- --- -- ...-.- --- __o --- __o ---- _ \<,_ _ \<,_ --- (_)/ (_) (_)/ (_) This is only a draft. _______________________________________________ RFI mailing list RFI@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi_______________________________________________ RFI mailing list RFI@contesting.comhttp://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi_______________________________________________ RFI mailing list RFI@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi _______________________________________________ RFI mailing list RFI@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rfi |
