Do they accept unsolicited devices or are they paid by
someone to review them, e.g. a retail chain, manufacturer, etc?

I think I will call Consumer Report Magazine and offer to send one of
these 12v AC low voltage exterior landscaping bulbs that came from
Lowes. Perhaps they will agree to test it and at some point, offer to
slam it in some future issue....might be an 'attention getter' on a
number of levels.
