So please do not take this the wrong way but I do not believe there are any HOA's that tell you that you cannot have an indoor antenna.  AND, if they did, AND you agreed with those moronic terms (which are not legal) than you deserve the misery they impose on you.

Yep, I get that.  But as we know 1) the lower your antenna is to the ground, the more RFI and man made noise that antenna is going to be subjected to, and 2) some HOAs are absurd enough to expressly forbid any antennas or any transmitting devices.  Now how that squares with baby monitors, cell phones, WiFi devices, your Alexa is beyond me, but those CC&Rs do exist in some communities.

The Geico ad on the Homeowner's Association is spot on....

Just because the Communist Committee does not permit having an

I get that the old timers on here see ham radio and family life as a zero
sum game, but the fact of the matter is that in a LOT of areas, you cannot
find a suitable house for a family which does not involve a HOA. In
choosing between living 90 miles away from good schools, your job, or a
$100,000 divorce, most rational people will chose that which makes most
sense (i.e., not living in redneckia).

But this is really another topic for another day. The point is that if you
are in HOA territory, it is a tougher sell to tell a neighbor that his non
compliant wall wart or solar panel is interfering with your non compliant
    amateur set up.

Depending on where you live, it is not really a choice. Virtually all

You do have 2 choices -
    1)Old construction or
    2)Don't live there
