I get on the contests to tweak my station's configuration
for DX'ing (which is my primary interest). An antenna here,
a new FSK decoding algorithm there, etc.
I could care less to see my score appear on print. Witness
all the flame wars going on currently re the possibility of
QST moving contest scores from print medium to Web medium,
and you would think that is all contesters are interested
in.

Indeed you do, Phil. I am one of them :-).
If the contests will happily accept emailed Cabrillo check-
logs, I probably won't mind sending them in at all.
What say all the contest managers? Is an emailed Carillo
check-log of any use? Will someone publish a Cabrillo QSO
syntax for BARTG, JARTS or Slovenia RTTY?
Perhaps contest programs could announce "May I submit your
log to the contest organiser through email now?" whenever
you exit the program?
If you are a certain software company, you would do that
without asking the user :-).
