Although it does appear that way, please bear in mind that
the "frills" comment came from one pilot station and not
the people on the island.
DXpedition leaders make all the difference in the world.
I have noticed that XR0X, like the others that were supported
through KK6EK's Cordell Foundation (I can only remember back
to 3Y0PI), has been a most "fun" expedition to work.
Yesterday evening, I was wondering if anything would have
been different if N6TQS were on the VP6DI team rather
than the XR0X team... maybe, maybe not.
Doug certainly would have made sure there is enough backup
RTTY equipment and an op (himself) who is competent in making
it work. However, if he is not assigned a station to operate
from, he would still have not have made all the QSOs he'd made.
Perhaps we can convince KK6EK that there are some flora,
fauna and geological structures worth exploring on Ducie,
HI HI.
