Playing around in the TARA Melee this morning and about a third of the calls
coming across the screen are new to RTTY.
It's been a busy year for me with all that has happened and I just didn't have
the time to dedicate updating the RTTY callsign database.
However on Wednesday of this week through a reorganization, after ten and half
years of dedicated service, my position was "eliminated" and now have extra time
to devote to other things (like ham radio again).
If you haven't done so already, please send me all your RTTY contest Cabrillo
logs for 2005 - big or small. I will update the RTTY callsign database and post
it on rttycontesting.com before the OK DX RTTY Contest later this month.
The antenna/tower rebuild has slowed a bit. The weather has not been good for
tower work. However, I do have the 2nd tower up to 45' now with guys and have
only one more midsection, then the top section to complete. The D40 has been
built and temporarily installed on the top section mounted on the ground. With
the antenna at just 17', signals on 40 meters are tremendous and JA1OVD answered
my CQ this morning while I was running 100 watts.
Updates on the higher tower project at
http://aa5au.com/antennas/rebuild/higher_tower.html
So send me those logs. Please make sure they are in Cabrillo format. You can
zip them up or send them individually if you choose.
73, Don AA5AU
