Actually, the more I think about it the more I am leaning towards an IC-7000 instead of the 706. The 706 on the new market is still priced quite high, the lowest price I can find is $839 at Gigaparts. The 7000 is only $1299 and has many options I'd need to buy for the 706 built into the 7000 as standard. With the 7000, there are no filters to buy and the high stability crystal oscillator is standard.
