That 20 minute video by N3JF would be time "well spent" for anyone
getting on to the digital modes for the first time. As was stated
before, even if this is not your specific radio, the concepts still
apply and this should give you a good foundation of the steps needed.
Julian, N3JF did an excellent job producing this video! He covers a lot of ground in twenty minutes. Of course the video can be paused or rerun if some parts move along too fast to comprehend on a "first pass". 73 de Bob - KØRC in MN ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On 2/13/2015 11:09 AM, Bob Burns W9BU wrote: On 2/13/2015 11:05 AM, Jim W7RY wrote:All you need is a USB cable. So you can send RTTY directly from the computer with no other hardware required.I don't have direct experience with the IC-7100, but that's how it works with the IC-7200 and IC-7600.You have to download and install a driver from the Icom Japan web site. That driver and the installation instructions can be found here: http://www.icom.co.jp/world/support/download/firm/IC-7600/usb1_20/You must install the driver BEFORE connecting the USB cable between radio and computer. You can probably find the info on the web for one of the above mentioned rigs and N1MM+.There's a file in the N1MM+ support wiki that walks you through how to do this:http://n1mmplus.hamdocs.com/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=685I also highly recommend a YouTube video that Julian Frost N3JF produced which walks you through the process of making an IC-7200 work with fldigi. It may be very helpful in understanding the concepts.http://youtu.be/szFnnwBCilI?list=PLRSwUN4qr1LrlszOGjqjtVHqiBIdPy0Bn Bob... _______________________________________________ RTTY mailing list RTTY@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rtty _______________________________________________ RTTY mailing list RTTY@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rtty |
