The SSB European Sprint takes place on Saturday 2nd October
from 15.00 to 18:59. Full rules at www.qsl.net/eusprint.

SD directly supports the Sprint, and is freeware from
www.ei5di.com. It runs on any Windows PC.

Here's the setup.

Select SD Type 12 - EU Sprint
Mode : SSB
Points per QSO : 1
Name : your name - as given in each QSO

Exchange is serial number and name or nickname. After CQing
and making a QSO you must QSY at least 2KHz before CQing or
working anyone else. Because people are constantly QSYing,
you must send BOTH callsigns as part of each exchange.

You can make things easier for yourself by making up a
reference file (with a .LST suffix) of callsigns and
names from previous Sprints. When you enter a matching
callsign, SD extracts the name and places it in the
Name field on the logging line.

The .LST file is a normal text file - you could call it
SPRINT.LST. Here is the format

G1AB Fred
LY2AA Arunas

Separate the callsigns and names by one or more spaces,
and load your .LST file (after SD has started) with
the LOAD command.

Use Esc to clear any incorrect name.

73,
Paul EI5DI
