The REF contest takes place from 0600 UTC Saturday 24th
to 1759 UTC Sunday 25th February. It's an SSB-only event
on the 5 contest bands from 80 - 10m. There are single
and all-band options for HP, LP (100w) and QRP (5W).
Rules, in French, at
http://concours.ref-union.org/reglements/actuels/reg_cdfhf_fr_0610.pdf
SD supports SO entries in this event. V13.14 runs on any
Windows PC, and is free from www.ei5di.com/sd/sdsetup.exe.
Do not use earlier versions - they do not score QSOs with
Corsica correctly.
Select SD's "REF, DX" template (outside France) and
"REF, F" template (French side)
French stations send 59 + département number or country
prefix (Overseas Territories). Others send 59 + Serial,
and work "French" stations only - with multipliers for
départements and certain country prefixes.
French stations include Mainland France, Corsica, and French
Overseas Territories.
NOTE for entrants outside France. Scoring is by continent,
but SD does not know what continent you're in, unless your
prefix and country are added to the REFDX file. Please copy
your own country record from DXCC.CTY into REFDX.CTY. You
must do this before the contest for SD to score correctly
during the contest.
SD identifies which stations you can work for points. When
the country name and beam heading are displayed as you enter
callsign characters, then it's OK to call. You can log other
stations, but they will not score.
After the Contest, use SDCHECK to create your Cabrillo .LOG
file. Edit it with Notepad to add the Cabrillo header tag
"REF-SECTION: DX". French stations give their département
instead of "DX". Rename your file to YOURCALL.LOG and email
it, as an attached file, to cdfssb@ref-union.org.

Paul EI5DI
