I just got off the phone with ScottRobbins, KY2P at Ten-Tec. He said
that it will still be "about a month" before the chip will be available.
"We opened our mouth a little too early," he said.
Scott also said that it will probably be March or April before rigs are
shipped with the new chip. He said that the OMNIs are built in batches
roughly every other month, and they do not plan to install it in their
present inventory. He did say that someone buying a new rig once the new
chip is available (but before the next production run) will be able to pay
an extra $15 and they will install the chip before shipment.
Other info from Scott: no plans for an OMNI VII "this year or well into
next year." Nothing on the drawing board for a legal-limit amplifier.
