After doing much sould searching, and realizing that my antenna situation
at home REALLY blows chunks all over the place, AND that in the last
month I've made
a few hundred mobile HF QSOs
maybe three QSOs from home
as a result, I've decided to focus more on my mobile operating and build
up my test bench a little bit. Maybe a signal generator, maybe a nice
soldering station, maybe a service monitor...
FOR SALE:
(1) mint condition Ten-Tec 562 OMNI V HF xcvr. With optional FM board.
Nary a scratch (it's my baby and has been babied). Installed updated
firmware last year. Installed voltage regulator board for frequency
stability. Covers 160-10 meters including WARC. ALC board currently set
for variable power output from 1.0 - 88 watts. Notch filter, passband
tuning, noise blanker, built-in fwd/ref/swr/Ic meter, speech processor, 25
memories, 2 VFOs, AF tone control, BIG & EASY TO READ display.
This receiver was compared with a friend's OMNI VI last year and the
receiver performance was virtually identical. Electronic full-break-in
CW. Unit adjusted for roughly 650 Hz CW offset. Comes with manual with
LOTS of notes in it and original box. Comes with stock 2.4 kHz filter.
I've got other filters but am hesitant to sell them because I don't know
if I'll need them in the future. The 7-10 MHz bandpass filter sometimes
doesn't switch in on power-up. A quick flip of the T-R relay gets it
back, and keeps it there. The clock has NEVER kept accurate time. Oh
well. It's a radio, not a clock.
It is "the best receiver I have ever used."
99.9% of xmit time has been at < 25 watts output.
(2) mint condition model 961 22 amp power supply with speaker. Perfect
match to the OMNI V. Has two accessory 12VDC jacks as well, power switch
on front panel. Comes with original box and manual (if I can find it).
(3) near-mint condition model 238 2 kW roller inductor L-type antenna
tuner. Switches three coaxes, plus a random wire OR balanced line
through a rather large balun. Fwd/Ref/SWR displayed. Lighted meter and
dial indicator with 12 VDC. Have photocopy of manual.
Prices:
Ten-Tec gets $1225 for the OMNI V as a used radio without the FM board.
New, the power supply goes for something like $275, and the tuner goes
for $380.
