Dear 72, Peter

The reason I mentioned 14100 is because it is the cw band and the weak
harmonic of a 40 meter cw signal would be obscured by the other cw
signals on that part of the band.
Now if we were to operate with a harmonic from say, 7100khz then our cw
signal would stick out like a sore thumb in the phone portion of the
band. So to make it short.
If you are going to have a harmonic, have it where it won't be noticed.

BTW: If you want to hear harmonics. Listen to the 160 meter contest this
winter. Tune your receiver from 3600 to 3700khz. Those boys running 2kw
on 160m can be S9 on 80 meters!
