If you set the offset to the right of zero, as you turn the knob to the
right, you tune for a downgoing pitch.  If you set the offset to the left,
same thing but to the left.

Alternately, set for zero and zero beat for no tone.  Push the zero-beat
button in and make sure the stn's zero-beated, and move the offset control
for more pleasurable copy.
