After reading everyone's input on pto rebuilds I finally toredown my corsair
II which was suffering the classical symptoms. The pto had been rebuilt just
13 months ago but already the lubricant resembled wax more than grease. I
removed the old grease and replaced it with a synthetic grease designed for
firearms. It's now working great. This would seem to support the theory that
the lubricant is at fault for causing these pto related problems.
