I have heard bad language just one time while operating CW, and it was
directed towards me. I was engaged in a QSO when someone began tuning
up on the same frequency, without sending QRL? first. When this person
unkeyed, I sent "lid" and the unexpected response was "FKU"! That was
the only time I ever said anything unkind on the air, and was met with
an immediate retort. I then continued on with my QSO like nothing had
happened.
