The parts I scavenged from Ten-Tec a couple of years ago for my
'301' included the weighted base.
Maybe if someone finds a fisherman with a blowtorch, he can melt
a hunk of lead to size to fit in the base, or get some 1/4"-1/2"
steel and have it cut to size.
My '301' sits on the under-desktop drawer shelf next to my
keyboard. I drilled out four shallow holes for the feet to drop
into. Works great. I've done the same for my paddles which sit
next to the '301'.
Somewhere, there was a thread about how to keep paddles from
skittering across the table (some of us are more heavy-handed
than others--We all know that when conditions are poor, our sigs
are improved if we hit the paddles harder). One thing I did for
when I use the paddles on the desktop is to cut three shallow
holes for the feet in a mousepad. Works superb. No more licking
my fingers and wetting the feet--the paddles' feet, not mine.
