Dennis,
I am looking at my manual for the 263 and in the installation section,
paragraph (4) reads as follows.

Plug the two phono plugs from the multi-conductor cable into the VFO IN and
OUT jacks.  The one with the RED marker is the VFO OUT.  If the coax leads
are inadvertently reversed, the system will be in operative, but no harem
will be caused.

Hope this helps you with the installation.  I did reverse mine once, and the
VFO in the Corsair reads 9.000.00, just switch them the other way.  Of
course, if I had paid attention, I would not have had the problem.  But, no
matter, it doesn't hurt anything, just doesn't work.
