For that matter, Heathkit's HW-16 had even better qsk. This tube type rig
used solid state TR switching with no relays. QSK was virtually
transparent.Also one of the highest acclaimed QSK machines was the
TS-930. I had a TS-940 and qsk was much smoother than even the Omni V or
VI. There's several 60+ wpm guys using IC-775's and IC-781's. Where we get
into trouble with QSK is the lower priced rigs from Yaesu, Kenwd and Icom
having nothing more than a fast vox. Still we can give credit to TenTec
for the early development of qsk and keeping it alive down through the
years.
