You might consider CAREFULLY changing out the center capacitors to higher 
values to narrow the bandwidth - then if you don't like the very narrow 
bandwidth, replace the original caps and go back to the 500 Hz original 
bandwidth.
Values?  Try increasing ONLY the interior cap values by roughly 30% of their 
current value to start.  Leave the "outer" cap values the same.  You can also 
do this by tack-soldering very small caps of appropriate value across the 
bottom of the filter to see if it works well or to determine the final 
narrowness you like in the filter. (Love those TenTec open construction 
filters)
