The Behringer 602A is NOT a parametric EQ. It only offers three bands of
*fixed* frequency equalization. Nor does it support variable *Q*
(bandwidth). A true parametric EQ requires 1) adjustable amplitude, 2)
variable frequency centering, and 3) variable Q, each independent of each
other. The 602A only satisfies the first condition and is more aptly
classified as a graphic equalizer (with round knobs).

For those interested in a much more power EQ solution, for only $50 more
than the street price of the MX602A, give serious consideration to the
Behringer DSP1100P. The DSP1100P teamed up with an older Marantz integrated
console amp (e.g., Model 1030) for monitoring makes for a great SSB transmit
and receive
combination. The classic Marantz integrated amps can be found on the
Internet for less than $75.00 in
nice condition.
