Let's be "fair" - this violates your sense of fairness. Not everyone's.
:-) I've seen 2nd hand submissions that were quite positive.

Now here's the good advice! When I look at the reviews, I am underwhelmed
by the objectivity and am impressed by the silliness of some of the
numbers. Check out how much "better" the Alinco DX 70 is than, many other
very respectable radios. (This is probably a function of what the owners
expect of their radios, the price, and other factors....) Then there is
the FT-1000 vs. the FT-1000D. Hey, these "reviews" are really just a
bunch of opinions, very few of them even try to be objective or
scientific as far as I can tell. I never really used them for much, just
reviewed in order to figure out what questions to ask of serious owners.
They're worth what you pay for them :-). Of course, once in a while,
someone writes a thoughtful piece that really explains things to me, for
that I am grateful.
