I think that $100 to fix any problem on a modern radio is a very small
price.
Especially when they do it right !   As to a cold joint... these things do
happen regardless of who assembles the board.  And, sometimes a bad joint
won't show up for years, especially if it is caused ultimately by a bubble
of flux.  I think the whole deal was quite reasonable.
