Check the 5 volt supply to the CPU that drives the readout. Check the
frequency lines from the band switch, and check or replace all the
aluminum electrolytics in that readout driver. Old aluminum
electrolytics, especially the miniature ones have a relatively short
life them and then they can be quite temperature and vibration
sensitive. Check the socket pins, perhaps by applying a quarter drop of
DeOxit to each and moving the chip around and the readouts.
