On Sunday, while speaking to the net control whose call I forget, on the Ten
Tec net at 7251, I thought I heard him tell me that he had turned up the
output of the Jupiter to 200 watts. Can someone confirm or deny his
statement? I was running my Jupiter with the Centurion amp @ ~1kw so I could
have a chance of being heard, and the condx that evening were pretty good.
The reason for bringing this to the groups attention is to warn that taking
the Jupiter's p.o. up a notch is not a good idea with respect to the
engineering parameters of the rest of the components in the vicinity of the
finals and output products generated as a result of exceeding manufacturers
ratings. I know that its always a temptation to crank it up, but its never
good to act on that impulse.
I.O.W. its never good to put two pounds of excrement in a one pound bag; not
good for the bag.
