Hi Barry,If the first local oscillator and the second local oscillator are shifted equal amounts and in the right relative directions, then the passband (at the antenna port) that is detected can be shifted while maintaining a constant beat note with all the signals in that passband. In the Omni VI this is what is being done in the second IF (the 6.3 Mhz IF) by shifting the second and third local oscillators (which are really just one single VXO) equal amounts in the same direction. So it is certainly possible that this could be done. I do not know whether the Omni will do it. Ken, N6KB |
