    You make an interesting point!  I never thought about it that way BUT it
does make sense!
    While on the subject of knobses -  I replaced the main tuning knob on my
526 (6N2) with an Argonaut V knob.  Not only does it match the Argo in
appearance but it works much better than the standard plastic one.    73,
