I have ONLY an Orion and Argonaut V! No amplifiers! I have found that
it is relatively easy, and enjoyable, to work DX with a maximum of 100 and
20 watts respectively. I also am "space challenged" and subsequently only
have small vertical and short wire antennas. Perhaps if I were an avid
contester I would want more "firepower". Personally I do not see how the
extra 50 or 100 watts would make the Orion any more desirable.
As for my addition to the Ten-Tec wish list; I would like something
like the RX-320 but more of a "top end" receiver. An RX-320 type receiver
with all the features of the Orion's main receiver would be awesome!
I really do wish that the sweep function, in the Orion, could have been
made to work with the sub receiver. That was a disappointment BUT I got
over it and love the Orion.
I WAS going to make some "7800" comments but changed my mind. Why beat
