The coax cable passes RF to the control lines much better than the
skinny audio cable. And despite the Gold may not have the shield
grounded well at both ends or have enough shield braid to keep RF out.
RS coaxes are not very good in that regard, they are very shy on shield
coverage which makes them very leaky even if properly terminated.
