Bob, the "Spurious Bar" you are referring to is the Indicator for
which Roofing Filter is currently in use. (hi)

Subject: [TenTec] Orion Filter Controls

The Orion filters are superb. PBT & BW controls behave exactly
as
expected. High cut behaves exactly as expected and so does Low
cut

However, in the case of Low cut, unlike the others, the
representation
of what is going on is incorrect, as it is illustrated on the
screen.
When adjusting Low cut it appears as if PBT is being adjusted,
suggesting a movement of the complete passband wrt carrier
frequency.
The BW digital readout does appear to reflect what is really
going on,
while there is a 2 x BW rate of change indicated on the PBT
digital
readout. This is erroneous. There should be no PBT change at
all with
this control. Additionally, there is a clean graphical
illustration of
BW setting for the sub Rx but the primary Rx illustration is
marred by a
spurious bar at its top.

These are niggles but I emphasise; they affect only the
representation
of what is going on, as displayed on the Orion screen. They have
no
effect at all, on actual operation of the Orion's superb
filtering scheme.
