Just what "kickbacks" are those ?
Mike W9OJ

Mike: This is not the forum for an analysis of kickbacks, but if you have been an observer of the ham "market" for many years and noticed how selling has evolved, plus additional info from those involved with manufacturing and selling, you will understand the term as it has applied to ham gear sales in the last 15 or so years.

One response to that trend was TenTec's decision to do factory
sales and drop dealerships, where they were losing sales to a
type of "bait and switch" activity. Sales folks are not immune
to promoting one product over another, that will bring them more
"in the end."

These things are not openly presented to the amateur public, since
negative news is not promotive of a positive image. Smaller firms
just accept the challenge, even if they're not on a "level playing field."
You will not hear TT or any other respected company complaining
about something they have no control over.

'Nuff said....
