Yuri, I could be wrong but I believe it is impossible
in fact to turn off the AGC and the noise you're
hearing is an artifact of overamplification of very
low level internal noise by the Orion's DSP algorithms
because they were designed for use with an antenna
connected - it will not affect the receiver's ability
to hear real signals when an antenna is connected.

Not meaning any disrespect, but I'll offer a prize to
anyone who can repeat K6SE's weak signal reception
test results with proper adjustment of the Orion AGC.
