This same situation certainly exists concerning enhanced SSB audio. I am certain the cranks who bash it have never heard a decent sounding station on a rx with a freq. response of say, 20 hz to 6 Khz and a similarly adequate speaker. I bet after one week of decent audio they would all find traditional utility grade ssb unuseable.

SWBCB is full of HiFi HF and it sounds fine on my 1933 Breting 12 with 12" Jensen coaxial.
The telephone is only 7/8 bit 56/64kbps and voice sounds fine. Bandwidth is limited by the 8kHz
sample rate to 3kHz or so (antialias filter rolloff). Why is more needed for HF SSB? Opera?
