Yes, I noticed that too. After tuning my linear (using the Tune
button and no built-in AT), when I keyed under normal power, it
took a couple of dits or dahs until the power came up to snuff.
But really only a few beeps. It rises within about 1 or 2
seconds.

Subject: [TenTec] Orion tuner Question

On my Orion with Auto Tuner,

After I've pressed the TUNE and the Tuner has matched the
Antenna.

When I press the CW Key, it takes a full second to come up to
full power.
Starting form 20 Watts moving up to 100 Watts.

The CW Hand key is connecte to the back Aux I/O PTT pin but it's
the same
with the key jack on the front...

Any one else seeing this?

looks like a software problem to me

Thanks & 73's
