Ronnie,

The idea is to enjoy CW at the speed that you do it. I
find that the OMNI VI+ "calls" to me to come and enjoy
a nice CW session.

Many IF DSP HF's are just painful to listen to on CW
for long stretches (Orion excluded). I find the 6+ to
be a great balance of SSB and CW in a rig where the
microprocessors are "transparent".

As for finding a partner (all you need), I find 40
meters to be the perfect place to find a good strong
signal any night of the week and any day of the year.
Use a dipole at any height.

It won't take long before the faster speed just comes,
but again, you don't really -need- it, you are already
there.

BTW - cw ops are at a premium these days, 13wpm is a
great skill to have an pass along...

73,
Don
