Quote from the manual addendum:
"The microphone cable shield must be tied to the transceiver's
microphone connector shell. That is normally done by clamping the shield
runner under the strain-relief clamp of the connector. ... Ten-Tec
mocrophones and the Heil/Ten-Tec Studio One R9625 cable sold by Ten-Tec
are already wired as such - many cables (such as other Heil cables) are
NOT." (emphasis in original)
I'm assuming my Heil adapter may not be connected as required, and will
be checking for that as well as other possible problems inside the shell.
