John

I have the Vee Beam Antenna in my yard. It is up about 45 feet on the
tower, goes over the house, and comes to trees in the front and back yards.
I have a piece of plastic conduit 10 feet long running from the terminator
to the ground rod mainly to make the ground wire more visible. The antenna
is a compromise on 160 and 80, but I can get it into my yard. My 80 meter
inverted V gives a better signal on 80. I have had fun with it on the WARC
bands and 6 meters where I worked into Texas. My other antennae are the A3S
tribander and a 40 meter dipole. I don't have to use the antenna tuner in
my Orion with the antenna because the SWR stays below 2 to 1. My yard is
135 feet wide and 110 deep. This is the only antenna I could put up and
work 160. My neighbors keep telling me that my clothes poles are crooked!
(Plastic conduit) Good luck.

John

Hello all,

I've been searching through the reflector archives for postings on the
TenTec Terminated Vee Beam Antennas, model 3402 and 3403. Although I found
some discussion about them, I couldn't find any comments from someone who
has actually used them.

I live on a small city lot with a single spruce tree in the very corner.
This would be an ideal fit. The question is, how does it work? Any
real-world experience?

Thanks in advance & 73,
