Duane,
I have also experienced an unexpected linkage between audio levels when both
headphone sides are set to BOTH and when muting one of the receivers.
I suspect that these issues may be related to the way the audio is generated
and routed in the Orion. The controls give a simplified appearance, but
behind the scenes you've got two possible audio sources (main / sub receiver
D/A converters), 6 possible audio destinations ( speaker, headphone left,
headphone right, aux I/O left, aux I/O right and line out ) two AF gain
controls (which are really just inputs to the processor ) and a menu system
for routing it all. There also have to be at least two audio amplifiers
(left and right headphone).
It might be helpful if someone could describe the details that make all
these work together. With that explanation, we might be able to explain some
of the situations where things don't work as expected.
